Vital Tails (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Vital Tails mobile application (“the App”) handles information when you use it.

Vital Tails is designed to be local-first. Most data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

a. Pet Information (Stored Locally)

When you use the App, you may enter:

  • Pet names, species, breed, age, weight

  • Health logs, medications, vaccines, appointments, reminders

  • Walk history and activity data

This information is stored locally on your device.

b. Photos (Camera / Media Access)

The App may request access to:

  • Your camera (to take a pet photo)

  • Your photo library (to select an existing image)

Photos you choose are stored only on your device and are not uploaded or shared by Vital Tails.

c. Location Information

Vital Tails may request location access for features such as:

  • Finding nearby veterinary or emergency animal hospitals

  • Tracking walks (distance and route)

Location data:

  • Is used only while the feature is active

  • Is stored locally on your device

  • Is not shared, sold, or transmitted to external servers

d. Notifications

The App uses notifications to:

  • Remind you of pet appointments or scheduled reminders

Notification data (such as pet name and appointment time):

  • Is used only to display relevant alerts

  • Is not shared with third parties

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information solely to:

  • Provide pet tracking and health management features

  • Display reminders and notifications

  • Improve usability and app functionality

We do not:

  • Sell your data

  • Share your data with advertisers

  • Collect analytics tied to your identity

  • Require accounts or logins

3. Data Storage & Security

  • All primary app data is stored locally on your device

  • You can export or delete your data at any time using in-app settings

  • We do not maintain centralized databases of user data

4. Third-Party Services

Vital Tails may interact with:

  • System map applications (e.g., Google Maps or Apple Maps) when you choose to find nearby veterinary services

  • Operating system services for notifications, camera, media access, and location

These services operate under their own privacy policies.

5. Children’s Privacy

Vital Tails is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your Choices

You can:

  • Deny camera, photo, location, or notification permissions in device settings

  • Delete all app data from within the App

  • Uninstall the App at any time

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
